What does "Not the sharpest tool in the shed" mean?


Smart or intelligent

Good

dumb, stupid or not smart

We say someone is 'not the sharpest tool in the shed' when they are not smart, or do something stupid.

 

We often say it when people make a mistake, or do something unwise.

 

It doesn't actually mean a tool!
